New to Physiotherapy? This is how it works

A step-by-step infographic outlining the physiotherapy assessment process, including sections for interview, physical assessment, discussion and treatment planning, treatment, and follow-up physiotherapy visits, each with corresponding icons and descriptions.

Your well-being is my top priority. I am ready to help you regain strength and mobility with tailored plans designed just for you.

During your session, I want to make sure you feel comfortable asking all your questions. I will explain everything I am doing, the purpose of the assessment tests, and treatments. You can stop the assessment and/or treatment at any time and for any reason. At every step of the way, I will ask for your consent to proceed. I will take the time to listen to your concerns.

It is essential to evaluate the body part that requires care directly. For this reason, it is ideal that you bring comfortable clothing to your session (like shorts and a tank top). You can always refuse my requests to change clothes or adjust clothing. However, this may affect the assessment and treatment options available.

How I treat

There are many ways to reach any goal. It all depends on what we are treating, your specific health condition, and your preferences. I'd love to hear about what has worked for you in the past and what you are interested in trying. Together, we will explore all the options!

I continually strive to expand my knowledge and improve the care I provide. These are some of the treatment modalities I use:

Manual therapy

It is a skilled, hands-on treatment approach to reduce pain, improve joint range of motion, and function. I use joint mobilization and manipulation, myofascial tissue release, and Osteopathic Manual Therapies (Craniosacral therapy, and visceral mobilization).

Manual therapies help you recover faster. Craniosacral, visceral mobilization, joint manipulation, muscle release, cupping

Acupuncture

It is a treatment that involves inserting very fine, sterile needles into specific points on the body to relieve muscle pain, joint stiffness, and inflammation. It promotes relaxation and stress relief. In physiotherapy, acupuncture is often used as part of a broader treatment plan.

Biomedical Dry Needling

It involves inserting a very fine, sterile needle into tight or sensitive spots within a muscle - trigger points - to help it relax, relieve pain, and restore normal function.

Cupping is very helpful to improve scar mobility and reduce pain

Cupping Therapy

It is a gentle treatment that uses special silicone cups placed on the skin to create light suction. It helps increase blood flow, reduce muscle tension, and promote healing in the underlying tissues.

Ktape for joint and muscle pain, lymphatic drainage, and bruising

Kinesiology Tape

It is a tape made of cotton that is applied to the skin to support muscles and joints, reduce pain, and help your body move more comfortably without limiting motion. It can also be used to improve blood and lymphatic flow, helping reduce swelling and inflammation. It allows you to stay active while healing.

TENS and Ultrasound therapy can alleviate help and support healing

Electrical Modalities

These treatments utilize gentle electrical stimulation to help your body relax tight muscles, reduce swelling, and relieve pain. It is used as part of a physiotherapy session to support recovery.

Strengthening, stretching. Recover from injury and pregnancy. Exercise without fear

Exercise Therapy

It is a key part of your physiotherapy treatment plan that uses targeted, guided movement to help you recover from injury, reduce pain, improve strength, flexibility, and balance. Each exercise program is custom-designed to meet your individual needs and goals for long-lasting results.
